Our Job Posting

First Baptist Church Summerfield FL, located in Central Florida near The Villages, is seeking a Senior Pastor to lead, preach and believe the inerrant Word of God. He shall be a committed Christian whose life demonstrates the Biblical qualifications of pastor as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-10.

His beliefs shall be consistent with FBC  Summerfield’s Statement of Beliefs and the Baptist Faith and Message, and his walk with God will exemplify the teachings of the New Testament. Information can be found at “What we believe” on our website – fbcsummerfield.org

He will (in no order):

• Testify to a clear sense of God’s call to the pastoral ministry
• Must be ordained (If not, must be ordained within 6 months of hire date)
• Serve as a spiritual leader and overseer of the congregation
• Possess a powerful sense of God’s leadership to pastor this church
• Proven ability to preach and teach the truths of scripture in an expository manner
• Have a zeal for the Gospel, and be able and willing to defend the Word and confront false doctrine
• Work with the Deacons, Trustees and other Committees as they perform responsibilities
• Exhibit administrative skills to fulfill the requirements of the position
• Must possess the following attributes: personal relationship with Jesus, integrity, passion, vision, humility, fiscal responsibility, purpose driven, good communication skills, encourager, mentoring skills, peaceful, patient, a teacher, gentle, not quick tempered, demonstrated perseverance

By leading the church body in every area, he will share God’s love and prepare hearts to hear the good news of the gospel. He will help equip our body of believers to become co-laborers in the work of evangelism and build bridges into the community that help provide a platform for the gospel.

He will be a real shepherd to the flock, love people and have the heart of a servant like Jesus Christ.
